I wanted to share with you some details on a partnership Calgary has created with one of their major sport organizations. Something to think about as we look to build relationships with the organizations we fund.

    Calgary Minor Soccer Model
    • Calgary Minor Soccer has established a program where each team that registers in a CMSA league has 25$ hidden in their fees. It works out to roughly $1.75-$2.00 a player.
    • This $25 is re-directed back to KidSport at the end of each outdoor and indoor season, where KidSport Calgary then redirects these funds to support more kids wanting to play soccer.
    • This money resulted in last year over $50,000 in funds for KidSport Calgary accounting for just over 70% of all soccer funding last year.
    • This program has been extended to include the Calgary United and Women’s Soccer Leagues which are all adult leagues.
    • Currently working on similar partnerships with Football and Basketball youth leagues in the city.
    • Other possibilities include hockey leagues; both adult and youth as well as other sports leagues and community associations.
